We
have added this page to help alert all Veterans and Shipmates about the
dangerous effects related to Agent Orange. Among our shipmates I know there are
at least four of us that are affected. I’m sure that there are more of you all
out there, and we want to make you aware of the dangers. There are a few
Veterans organizations that will help with the issues, however the battle is
still on for us all. While we were on patrol off Vietnam, and went ashore while
we were there, we became infected with the toxin of Agent Orange. The toxin also
came from the water that we drank, even though we distilled the salt water to
make fresh water and also by toxin being airborne.
The Veterans Administration has acknowledged that I have been infected by Agent Orange and approved my claim, and the claims of others as well.
The main reason for this page is to inform and encourage all that maybe suffering from any of these illnesses to contact your Veterans Service Officer of your state or organization that you are a member of and get your compensation.
The Order of the Silver Rose is an organization that recognizes and awards us for being wounded by chemicals. I would like to encourage all of you to visit their site, at http://silverrose.info and see the names of those infected. The cost for the award and recognition is FREE, and available to all of us. The following are two of us from the Warbler Crew that are on the list:
YNC Gerald R. Livermore U.S. Navy #30-04
BM2 Paul R. Wamsley, U.S. Navy #64 -08
